What Is Jobgarden?

Jobgarden is a blog by Chris Faircloth ruminating on the meaning of work and the tangible reality of the economy in a time when job hunting feels like a detached, dystopian endeavor that has little to do with making connections with other humans. You'll notice the title of the tab is "Jobgarden, USA", because there's a consulting firm in Budapest called job garden. This blog is not affiliated with them, nor is it likely to be relevant to anybody in Hungary.

Jobgarden is the blog portion of the site Randomjobs. Randomjobs is a one-page database of random United States jobs that I post in batches of 3, making an effort (but no guarantee) to avoid ghost jobs. While I hope Randomjobs is useful to somebody, Jobgarden is where I can talk about the things that caused me to start Randomjobs. Work is a method of human survival and service is a vector of human connection, but our perception of reality is fraught with illusory rewards and threats when we rely on social media and exploitable recruitment sites to tell us what exists.
